Mongolians are considered to be some of the best horsemen in the world; horses play a very important role in the daily lives and culture of the Kazakhs of Western Mongolia. Despite women having an extensive knowledge of horsemanship, horses are still very much within the domain of men. 

Naadam festivals, celebrated in every town and village in the country feature long distance races, trick riding (picking up coins and objects from the ground while at full gallop) and other traditional games such as goat polo.
